NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE NORTH STAR ACADEMY OF MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
WEEK OF OCTOBER 26th, 2026
Happy Monday team!
We had three students compete this past weekend at Grappling Industries in Broomall, PA. Let’s give a quick shout out to Jay, Rob, and Ayden! Jay cleared out a very tough blue belt division en route to gold, Ayden dominated his way to the finals and dropped a close decision to the champ, and Rob had three great matches going 1-2 for the day. Overall a great showing, lots of fun, no injuries! Congrats guys!
The BJJ squad returns to action on Saturday, November 7th at Tap Cancer Out. We are running some competition prep sessions on Sundays from 9am-11am (gi) so if you’re interested in getting some additional training, jump in!
We have a special day of youth programming this Wednesday the 28th as we lead up to Halloween! Please note that friends and siblings of students are welcome to join us this Wednesday for a day of fun, costumes (optional — I know not all families participate in Halloween), and games.
- All Fit Jitsu students (ages 6-9) will have their costume class at 4pm.
- All Muay Thai and Youth BJJ students (ages 9-13) will have their costume class at 5pm.
- Thursday 10/29 Muay Thai is still on!
The Muay Thai team has a ton of big competitions coming up as well. Tim Green flies to Madrid, Spain next week as a member of Team USA to compete for gold at the ISKA World Championships November 6th-8th. The following weekend, Ayden and Makhi travel to the Bronx as featured matches in Muay Thai Madness while a number of our athletes participate in a local smoker at one of our sister schools. December will see a number of our fighters compete as well in Delaware — more info TBA. Busy busy busy!
I’ll see you on the mats! Got a fun week coming down the pipe.
