Happy Monday team!
Hope everyone had a fun (and cool) weekend. That was intense!
Although it got a little warmer than normal inside the church, I’m stoked that all the systems held up (and packed mats too)!
We return with another solid week of training.
On the horizon, I am working out the details to bring Jason Rau to the academy in August for a BJJ seminar. Jason is one of the most highly regarded nogi coaches in the world (hello, does the “Rau drag” ring any bells??) , and teaches out of his academy Vanguard Jiu Jitsu in Long Island, NY. I am a huge personal fan of Jason’s content — he has an incredible ability to take complex skills and concepts and make them simple, understandable, and accessible. Stay posted for more information here. We are looking at an $80ish seminar fee. But I would never bring anyone out who wasn’t worth it. This stuff will be game changing.

We also have the long awaited Muay Thai debut of Ade Solebo on August 1st at USKA Sports in Trucksville, PA (near Scranton). We’ll have ticket and streaming info soon. Ade was slated to compete in 2022/2023 (the olden times) but was waylaid with a shoulder injury.. years later we are back and picking up where we left off. It’s a great story of resilience, consistency, and discipline, and if you’ve worked with Ade in sparring you know he is beyond ready to go.
The striking team will also field a number of athletes at the WKA National Tournament later on in August as well.
For the time being, though, enjoy the milder weather this week and let’s keep at it.
