THE RED CORNER
WEEK OF 4.01.24
Happy Monday Team!
This week we see Joe Angelo and coach Bill Kirner make their Muay Thai debut at the USA Muay Thai Grand Nationals in Hockessin, Delaware.
This 4-day tournament draws talent from all over the East Coast and beyond to compete for the title of National Champion and a spot on the USA Muay Thai national team.
We’ll have more information on fight times, bracketing, etc as we approach the event. And please note that due to the variable nature of this event, some last minute class schedule changes may occur. We have backup plans set up already but you never know with these things!
Moving forward into April we are getting back into heavy competition season! Jiu Jitsu students interested in competing at Grappling Industries on April 20th, make sure to see a coach. This is a great opportunity to test your skills in a local event and really level up your game.
Beyond that, we are turning our curriculums over for the month. We will round out our exploration of the different Thaiboxing styles with our dive into the “Muay Tae” (kick fighter) approach. And it’s just what it sounds like: lots of kicking. Yay!
For BJJ, we welcome coach Ian back and we will be diving deep into very specific attack sequences.
I’ll see you all on the mats!
–Coach J
