Happy Monday Team!
We had an incredibly successful and busy weekend here, split between two big competitive events.
First, we are proud to introduce the NEW Warrior’s Cup Super Featherweight champion Gianna Vadino!
Friday night in Queens, NY, Gianna won an extremely tough and close fight against a 5x champ en route to a split decision finish and improved her overall record to a perfect 8-0.
On Saturday we sent a squad to Grappling Industries in Broomall, PA for a long and gritty day of back-to-back grappling matches.
I’m still compiling the official results, but overall the team did an amazing job. Big shout outs to Milla Janick, Brittany Walker, and Dashaun Kimp for winning their respective divisions. The MVP for the day was Dashaun Kimp, who went something like 9-1 with all wins by submission except one (a 15-0 decision) in his very first grappling competition ever!
Great efforts from Grant Boyd (only 2 months in), Joe Angelo, Kevin Koch, Takeem Owens, Christian Spearman, Johnny Janick, Christian Hollar, and Michael Dobruskin. Lots to bring back to the room to sharpen up and reinforce.
Our Itinerary in May is full as well — Timmy Green returns to the MMA cage on May 12th at Art of War in Philadelphia, and Makhi Anthony and Ade Solebo will be fighting the following weekend on May 20th in Voorhees, NJ at the Striker’s Cup Muay Thai.
We’ll have ticket info for both events shortly.
In the meantime, make sure to get into the academy and push your teammates to work hard and improve. I’ll see you on the mats! |

Our Junior Samurai stripe challenge this week is blue! Students can earn a blue stripe by completing 3 chores without first being asked (that is, taking initiative to get them done ahead of time). |
