Happy Monday team!
Last week was the first week of our Summer Youth Wrestling Club here at the academy! Coaches Rob Stott and Kyle Bagenstose of LaSalle College Prep High School are leading the program through September — if you are interested in sharpening your child’s wrestling skills, or just simply introducing them to wrestling as a sport, we have some space available.
- 6-9 year olds meet Mondays & Wednesdays from 4-4:45pm (lead by me, coach Jackson)
- 6-13 year olds meet Mondays & Wednesdays from 5-6pm (lead by coaches Rob and Kyle).
I may be biased as a lifetime combat sports athlete and former high school wrestler, but wrestling is one of the best vehicles for personal development and growth for young athletes. The level of discipline and work ethic cultivated on the mats just simply cannot be learned anywhere else. As we say, “once you’ve wrestled — everything else is easy!”

Next, we have a big seven days of BJJ here at the academy starting tomorrow!
First, our next BJJ Team Sparring night is tomorrow night at 7:30pm! We’re gonna run rounds from start to finish, gi or nogi, and get after it. Make sure to show up ready to get after it.
Second, Summer promotions are set for Monday, June 15th. This is normally a nogi class on the schedule, but bring your gi! We’ll do our best to get through the promotions in a way that both keeps it moving along, but gives everyone their moment. Open mat is to follow.
