What a weekend — two full days and 10 fights later we have crowned two ISKA North American Champions and one silver medalist. No small feat as this was a massive and extremely competitive tournament from top to bottom!
Makhi Anthony enters into the advanced division and clears out two extremely crafty veterans en route to the championship belt. Makhi also earns himself a place on TEAM USA as they travel to Madrid, Spain later this year to compete for the prestigious ISKA World Titles!
Dashaun Kimp’s lab work between his previous outing and this one was in full effect as he kneed his way into a national title int he heavyweight division.
Xavier Taylor enters the tournament at 0-0 and finishes 3-1, only one or two punches away from the gold in the largest division in the tournament.
Andy, Joe, and Jason put together some amazing scraps but unfortunately do not place. From top to bottom the team impressed and showcased all their hard work they’ve been putting in over the past few months. It’s been a serious grind, but the results speak for themselves. Congrats guys!
The North Star Wrestling Club resumes this week with our fifth class in the series! Due to the overwhelming response to our wrestling sessions, we will permanently (but tentatively) add them to the schedule on Wednesdays moving forward. We look forward to building out this program and bringing in some guest coaches over the weeks to continue to level everyone up. The attendance and eagerness to get after it has been incredible! Keep it up!
Grapple at the Chapel II is set for this Saturday! Our youth Jiu Jitsu showcase returns this Saturday at 12:30pm for an afternoon of fun and competition! Parents, we ask that you RSVP for this event but we will absolutely accept walk ins.

Lastly, tickets are still available for Tim Green’s Title Fight at Freedom Fighting Championships this Saturday evening in South Philadelphia! Tickets start at $65 for General Admission and this event may actually sell out. Don’t wait to grab tickets if you plan on attending! The easiest way to secure your space is to Venmo Tim directly @tim-green-8 — $65 for General Admission, $75 for Row 3, and $95 for Row 2. Tickets purchased in this manner can be picked up from the gym front desk, or as otherwise arranged. Reply to this e-mail if you have any specific questions!
