NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE NORTH STAR ACADEMY OF MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

WEEK OF MAY 12th, 2025

Happy Monday Team!

Another solid week of training in the books!

We won’t see any special events this week, but going into next week we have a ton of stuff going on so let’s make sure to mark our calendars!

First, in our youth program, we have two events.

On Tuesday, May 20th, is our Muay Thaigers Level 2 Shorts Test.  This will replace our regularly scheduled youth Muay Thai class!  Parents, if your child has been attending our striking program for at least 3 months with good attendance, they are invited to test.  You can find more information and our registration form here: Muay Thaigers Level 2 Shorts Test.

The following day (Wednesday, 5/21), all youth classes will be held in Vernon Park (on the Greene St side) for our Fit Jitsu (4-5pm) and Junior Samurai (5-6pm) Spring Fling!

This event is open to all North Star youth students (in any/all programs) as well as their siblings, friends, and beyond.

We will spend the day in the park playing games outdoors, so make sure to have your child come prepared with the proper footwear and apparel.  They will not need any special equipment.

We will also provide food and water ice!  There is no need to register so just plan on showing up.  More information will be given out early next week.

 

Second, we will observe an adjusted class schedule for Memorial Day Weekend.

Saturday, 5/24

• 10am Striking Open Mat
• 11am Jiu Jitsu Open Mat

Monday, 5/26

• Closed

We resume our normal schedule on Tuesday, May 27th.

 

Tickets will also be in for Coach Tre’s Muay Thai fight in Delaware on June 7th so stay posted.
