WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2nd, 2024

 

Happy Monday Team!

Reminder that all classes are cancelled today in observance of the holiday.  We’ll be back to our regular schedule tomorrow!

Labor Day is one of my favorite holidays — sure, the 3 day weekend is always nice, but as someone who spent his entire life working with his hands I have a personal appreciation for the spirit of the day.  And, yes, I know it’s more about labor rights than actual labor but you can’t really have one without the other 🙂

Prior to getting involved in Mixed Martial Arts, I was working in the landscaping industry since age 14.  I’ve dabbled in construction, painting, masonry, you name it.  In fact, about 90% of the painting, arrangement, and buildout at the academy was done with my own two hands.  It’s something I take a lot of pride in and I love days where I’m the first one in the gym and I get to just enjoy it in silence.

Anyhoo, I’m getting off track!

September is shaping up to be pretty awesome.  I’m probably most excited about our youth program getting back to their routines (and uniforms) this week.  We’ll be maintaining our Youth Muay Thai program indefinitely so plenty of variety for the kids to learn and enjoy.

We have a ton on the calendar so far with a few potential additions in the pipeline, so stay posted!

• 9/16 — Tentative start date for coach Valor Boyer
• 9/24 — September Slamboree
• 9/28 — Major League Muay Thai featuring Gianna Vadino in Santa Monica, California
• 10/5 — Grappling Industries in Broomall, PA
• 10/23 — ISKA International Championships featuring Gianna Vadino and Tim Green in Vienna, Austria
