Happy Monday Team!
We are fresh off another week of intense competition and right back into the fire again!
Congratulations to Tim Green, the 2024 ISKA Kickboxing Champion! Tim Green put on a killer performance this weekend in the ring, blending heavy pressure with smart footwork and impeccable defense. Coach Trevon Scales came up short in his bout against a former opponent but kept it very close until the last bell. Both these athletes represent the school, the coaches, and you, very very well. Make sure to let them know when you see them!
We return to action this Friday in NYC for Gianna Vadino’s 1st title defense at Warrior’s Cup. Gianna picked up their 130lb Championship Belt last year in a 5 round battle against one of the toughest women in the country, and will now be facing NYC’s top female fighter in another full rules bout.
Tickets are available at the front desk for those who want to make the trip (Battery Park, NYC) and a PPV will be available as well.
On our in-house schedule, please note the following:
- Coach Alex Brazinski returns from Spain this week and M4A resumes as normal
- Our 101 Seminar Series returns on Thursday, 5/16 at 6pm with an “Intro to Live Rolling” workshop (nogi). This workshop is intended for the newer and intermediate students and will provide some general insights, heuristics, and etiquette to make tackling full live rolling a lot easier.
- Slamboree is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st — so make sure to speak with a coach if you are interested in testing into 201
- Lastly, we will be running an adjusted holiday schedule on Memorial Day Weekend. Stay posted for updates.
See you on the mats!
–Coach J
