CLASS REGISTRATION AND ATTENDANCE TO BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 1ST

Wanted to give you all a few quick updates on what we’ve been cooking up in the back room (or, more appropriately, how we’ve been putting out the kitchen fires for the past few weeks) 🙂
We were unexpectedly hit with a notice that our gym management software — which handles our billing, registration, scheduling, messaging, etc — was discontinuing its service on December 15th, giving us a few weeks to migrate everything over to a new provider.
As you can imagine this was a huge effort and not without its pitfalls and massive challenges.Fortunately, we emerged on the other side (mostly) in one piece and have been restructuring some of our workflows to adjust to the new limitations and features of our new system.
You may have noticed that the Red Corner e-mail was absent the past few weeks. This was one of our casualties in the migration, but expect to see it return on Monday (although in not as pretty of a format).
The biggest change that we will have, moving forward, will be class registration and class attendance check ins. We expect to “go live” with this on February 1st.Students will be asked to pre-register for classes online or through the mobile app, and also check in to class at the front desk, a kiosk, or their mobile device.
Attendance tracking accomplishes a number of goals, all for the better:
- It helps us plan and adjust our schedule to best accommodate everyone’s needs
- It keeps students connected to the schedule to ensure they know exactly which classes are going on, and when.
- It allows us to stay on top of absent students to check in and make sure everything is ok
- It gives us an additional metric in evaluating student rank and class progression
- And probably a dozen additional smaller things that add up
The transition to this new policy will be annoying and a little bumpy, but once we all get in the habit of it, it will be super easy. Pinky swear!

A desktop portal exists as well, but the mobile apps will be your best bet if convenience and ease of use are important to you.
