Monday Mindset: Discipline Bridges the Gap
I feel like we all know what we should be doing.Eating better, sleeping more, exercising often.
It’s not complicated.
And yet, most of us are probably not at the level of health and fitness that we’d like to be.
Simply put, discipline is the bridge between where we are, and where we want to be.
It’s not a matter of learning more information about nutrition (although it helps), nor about learning better ways to exercise (although, again, it helps). It’s just a matter of making the right choices when we don’t really want to.
That’s it.
That’s the difference between where you are, and where you want to be. Making better choices.
It’s not easy. In fact, it’s incredibly hard, and you have to sacrifice a lot of what feels good now for something that will feel good later.
So my challenge to you today is to make one simple, but difficult choice, that rewards you in the future at the expense of your comfort in the present. It won’t be easy, but you’ll be glad you did.
And maybe looking back, when you realize that it wasn’t actually so bad, and that you feel a lot better for having made the right decision, you’ll want to make more.
Maybe, if you walk across that bridge for a little bit, you’ll start to realize that everything you want for yourself is within reach.
