Happy Monday Team!
Big congrats to our Jr. Samurai alumni and also assistant instructor, Madison, on her clean sweep this weekend at NAGA. Madison has been significantly maturing as a grappler over the last few months especially, and showcased an intelligent and aggressive style en route to winning both her divisions. She is, and will be, a force to be reckoned with on the competition scene!
We are only 3 weekends away from Gianna Vadino’s second championship bout — on March 18th she takes on a tough veteran at USKA for the Full Rules Muay Thai 135lb Championship Belt!
This all goes down right in our back yard in Newark, Delaware. Let’s pack the house!

Also, due to the positive reception on our Jiu Jitsu 101 Seminar “The Path to Blue Belt,” we have decided to implement a recurring in-house seminar series. We’ll be taking deep dives into different topics like submissions, escapes, and conceptual approaches.
Our next Seminar, Judo 101: Intelligent Gripping and High Percentage, Low Risk Takedowns, is scheduled for Saturday, March 25th at 11:15pm and will be hosted by resident Judo black belt and coach, Will Dampier.
This workshop is free to members and friends of the academy alike. Mark your calendars!
Let’s continue the strong effort at the academy and keep the momentum going. See you on the mats! |

Our Junior Samurai stripe challenge this week is Blue! Students can earn a blue stripe on their belt by successfully completing a “parent’s choice” task or chore. Keep it challenging, but feasible to complete. |
