Happy Monday Team!
And, yes, we are open as normal today. What else would we be doing on a wonderful Monday evening 🙂 ?
Tonight is also the start of a small change in our Striking 101 program. From here on out, shin guards are required for all Striking 101 classes.
We have introduced a smaller profile cloth shin guard appropriate for this level of training. Please note that these cloth shin guards are not “Sparring Grade” and that you will eventually need to acquire some sparring grade gear in order to participate in the intermediate classes and beyond.
Students in our 101 program are welcome, and encouraged, to use sparring grade gear instead of the cloth shin guards if they so prefer.
We will be turning over our curriculum in February, with more of a focus on contact and reaction drills, so as to better prepare you for more advanced drills and concepts from the start.
Until then, we’ll be incorporating some of these ideas into our existing lesson plans and getting everyone up to speed! |

Our Junior Samurai stripe challenge this week is Blue! Students can earn a blue stripe by cleaning up after dinner one night — that includes all dishes, all surfaces, and all storage/putting away. |
