Happy Monday Team!
I’m probably flying somewhere over the Midwest as you’re reading this now! After a quick trip to the West coast for a wedding, I’ll be back on the mats tomorrow without skipping a step.
We are ramping back up for a ton of activity over the next couple weeks so buckle up!
This Saturday we’ll be competing at Grappling Industries, one of the toughest local jiu jitsu tournaments around. On the 22nd, Isis Toledo has a BJJ superfight in NJ, and on the 28th and 29th we have back-to-back parties (our 2nd Annual Kick or Treat fundraising party on Friday, and the Balance Studios 20th anniversary party on Saturday).
You may have noticed some new faces teaching class in our Striking 101 program lately. Let’s officially give a big welcome to Larry Thi, Trevon Scales, and Dominique Cherasard!
All three of these nak muays have completed an understudy here at the academy and have graduated into running their own classes. They’ve been doing an awesome job so far!
You can catch Larry on Mondays at 6pm, Dominique on Wednesdays at 7:30pm, and Trevon on Saturdays at 10am.
Stay posted for an announcement for our next Striking 101 Review Test coming up later this month — but in the meantime, keep up the great energy and I’m looking forward to seeing you on the mats tomorrow! |

Our Junior Samurai Stripe challenge this week is Blue! Students can earn a stripe by helping a classmate, fellow student, or sibling with something they’re having trouble with. This could be a chore at home, a project or task at school, or something difficult on the mats. Be creative and take initiative! |
