Back to work after a packed weekend!
Our Path to Blue Belt workshop was packed — I hope you all got something out of it. When we go over a comprehensive and exhaustive set of ideas and concepts, it’s unrealistic to absorb everything. Many of these concepts require multiple passes before they stick, and they can only really be understood with a certain amount of experience.
So, we will continue circling back to these as we progress through our Jiu Jitsu 101 curriculum in the coming weeks.
Saturday night, Victor Vega stepped into the ring at Gut Check Championship. Although we didn’t get the result we wanted, we got plenty of data to work with and bring back to the gym. Thanks to everyone who supported!
August looks to be pretty clear of competition and special events so far, but if and when something pops up I will let you all know. Until then, back to work. I’ll see you on the mats tonight!
Our Junior Samurai Stripe Challenge this week is RED. Students can earn a red stripe by successfully completing 20 popcorn squats at home in under 3 minutes. That’s Kernel, Sizzle, and POP! 🙂
