Striking 101: Intro and The Three Pillars of Striking
Welcome to the Striking 101 Online Curriculum!
Throughout this series we’ll cover the fundamentals of Muay Thai, which is the primary base for our striking system here at the academy.
While it’s absolutely important to understand and refine the specific techniques included in Muay Thai orthodoxy, we want to instill in you an understanding of the fundamental concepts themselves.
Here, we identify the Three Pillars of Striking:
- Stability: the intengrity of your connection to the ground, which allows you to generate power and maintain your base.
- Equilibrium: the dynamic and diametric nature of offensive techniques that allows you to maintain your stability while generating enormous force.
- Responsibility: the state of free movement and action created by an adherence to the first two principles.
Make sure to study and understand these three pillars as you explore the more specific techniques that follow!
